Day 4 with clean eating.
I decided to try to eat clean food 95% of the day; each and every day. I will have cheat days, after all I am only human and chips and salsa are at the top of my list of all time favorites. Right now I am not willing to give up my daily dose of chocolate; - this will be my 5% of non-clean food. Besides that one item of daily goodness, I plan on eating very little processed food. I have found a few good web sites that will help me get started, one even has a shopping list for Trader Joes. Guess I will be making a stop there this week.
I decided that as I get closer to "middle age" I should start trying to take better care of my body. Goal for this year is to keep moving, but what's the use of moving if I fill my body with crap? Each year I can see my body slowly changing - and not in a good way. Over the past year some weight has slowly inched it's way onto my waist and has decided to camp out for a while. I'd like to have this little "extra" part of me gone before I hit menopause.
My Fit Bit has made me realize how little I move at times. I now try to take the stairs as much as I can and go out of my way to get a few extra steps in. Last week I did 34 miles - hope I can get 35 this week. It will be interesting to see how far I have gone at the end of this year.
Off to bed on a very empty tummy - hope this phase passes soon.
Just have to keep moving and eating clean. Lean and green for 2013.
