My last post for December daily (i will miss it).
The boys slept in till after 7 - major score for Randy and I. Carson came and snuggled for a little bit before brother ran in and told us Santa had came. I made them stay in bed while I put the fire on, turned on the tree lights and got the oven ready for cinnamon buns.
Soon our living room looked like a paper factory had exploded in it. The boys were off playing with their toys; Randy and I were left to enjoy the mess.
Brother Brett and his family came for brunch ~ so yummy. Lots of boy play, Legos and a quick nap filled the afternoon.
Another Christmas is done. The tree needs to come down. The presents need to be put away. Life needs to be normal once again. Fingers crossed I will find the time the put these "dailys" in the book I made (hint, hint, Jen and Mary ~ lets set the date).

December daily ~ december 24....
Christmas Eve!
They day started off with some relaxation with my boys. The little ones played quietly, me and the big boy were able to sit in our room and have a conversation - perfect morning.
Spent a few hours painting in the man cave. We are getting close to being done. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Griffin and I headed to church for Christmas mass. It was a very nice service. Then it was a quick trip to the grocery store and back home to celebrate the night with Randy's family. Food, presents and fun filled the evening. Once the sugar high was gone, the kids brushed their teeth and we snuggled on the couch so I could read them "The Night Before Christmas".
Cookies were put out; kisses were given; kids were tucked in and lights were out. Off to bed we went so Santa could make a visit.

December daily ~ december 23...
Crazy day. Started off with lots of wind and rain. I had two sessions this morning; the sitter never showed up so I had to take my kids with me - very professional. I ran into two angels at Starbucks - Gail and Jerry. They watched my boys during my first session; I bribed the boys for the second one. They did great.
We had a mini play date with the Aune's. Love, love, love hanging with that family. After a cup of tea, a few laughs and some dish on whats new with our lives, the boys and I were back home. I had to get ready for Randy's Christmas party.
Date night for us ~ what a great night. Was nice to hang with my hubby for a night. He still makes my heart skip a beat when I see him.
Franny left the best present for the boys. Gingerbread boys and all the stuff to decorate them with.

December daily ~ december 22...
My last day of work for 4 days!!!! Not very many of us in the office but that kind of makes it fun. Of course I made time for a Starbucks date with Gail; nothing better than hot chocolate on a very windy day.
The shopping is done so the boys and I just hung out at home in the afternoon. Got a pleasant phone call from hubby asking us to meet him at Boomers (didn't have to twist my arm to much). The boys started to watch "The Polar Express" but Carson was a bit scared so we had to turn it off. Maybe he will be ready for it next year.
The official countdown is on in our house. The boys know how many sleeps are left till the big guy comes. G wants to put a camera in the tree to capture the man in red when he delivers the presents - to cute. My fingers are crossed that C will let us sleep till at least 7 (hoping for 8) on Christmas morning.

December daily ~ december 21...
Nothing really Christmasy (not sure if this is even a word) going on today. The kids and I ran to Office Max for a few items and they each got to pick out a calendar for their rooms. Both wanted Harry Potter. Man they were entertained while we waiting in line to check out.
Lego and Star Wars play till bed. The boys are still dealing with this cold/cough and Randy is starting to get it. I wonder if I can dodge the bullet this time? Fingers crossed I can hold off for getting sick for a week or two.

December daily ~ december 20....
I love that show "Outsourced" that is on Thursday nights.
I am on a call with Target right now, trying to locate a package that has yet to arrive. The lady that I am talking to reminds me of a character that I would find on that show. I don't have the guts to ask her where she is located, so I will just picture the cute boss guy sitting at the front of the room that the customer service lady is in.
Ran to the bank today to get crisp money for holiday gifts. Had a quick nap before dinner. After the dishes were done, we sat as a family in the living room and made Lego ships till it was time for bed.

December daily ~ december 19...
Today was the Aune's annual Christmas brunch. We love going to this every year. Jen is amazing at making enough food to feed all of us; having a clean house and looking cool and relaxed the whole time. I feel very blessed to be part of the Aune's extended family. I could not have asked for better friends. Hanging with old and new friends is a wonderful part of this time of year.
After I got my fill; I took Gregg shopping for the boys ~ they are going to LOVE his gifts. Once I dropped him off it was off to the mall to pick up the last items. Did you hear that ~ the last items.
After the kids went off to bed, Randy and I wrapped all the presents. I am still waiting for a few more packages to arrive in the mail (fingers crossed they come very, very soon). The tree is looking like Christmas now.

December daily ~ december 18....
The kids were going to go to Gregg's house to make cookies today. The last few days Gregg has really cheered up and he asked to have the boys. It's nice to hear him sound normal.
C did not have a good night last night and woke up sounding awful; we decided to keep him home. Once he found out he was not going, he cried so hard he had HUGE tears rolling down his little face. Talk about heart break.
I took him shopping with me instead and he was great. He helped me pick out some great items and we even stopped and had a cookie/coffee date at Starbucks. He is my shopping buddy.

December daily ~ december 17...
Today I found Owen's family!!! I even bought a few for presents.
Carson and I joined big brother Griffin in his class for a holiday party. We decorated gingerbread men and had apples and hot chocolate. It is so fun to see C's face light up when we go to school. To see G take such a protective stand with him. To see all the kids embrace C and make him feel like part of the class.
More packages are starting to show up. Hope the rest come very, very soon.

Had to venture out to Walmart ~ was not as bad as I thought but will not be returning anytime soon.
Did some wrapping on the teacher gift and the presents I had to get into the mail. Not sure when I am going to tackle the big pile of boxes that are starting to take over my bedroom. Can I freeze time for a bit to catch my breath and make a plan????

December daily ~ december 15...
We visited Santa today!!!!! The kids were great and had a fun time sitting on Santa's lap and talking to him. Both had great smiles and told the big guy the items they wanted for Christmas (items I never knew they wanted - sorry).
After pictures we grabbed a quick snack than off to do more shopping. Hours later and several hundreds of dollars spent we headed home for dinner, books and bed time.
We are getting closer to being done.

December daily ~ december 13...
I broke an ornament tonight. So sad. Carson asked me why I spun it around and dropped it on the floor. Silly boy, he can't understand that all I did was brush my arm against the tree and it fell off onto the ground.
Typical Monday; was going to take the kids to see Santa today after school but Carson was not feeling well when I got home, so we had cuddle time instead.
Best part of my day, sitting around the fire, doing a puzzle with the boys and then reading my book with Griffin.

December daily ~ december 12...
My sugar coma is here. Randy woke up, kissed me good morning and told me to take off and hit the gym. He can tell when it's time for me to go, I tend to get a little cranky when I don't get a work out. Thanks hubby for seeing what I needed.
Had a great run then home to a house minus kids ~ Gregg took them for lunch. Randy and I did work - me edits, him paperwork - while the kids were gone.
We watched Christmas movies when the boys got home; love watching all the old Christmas cartoon's this time of year. I still have vivid memories of watching those movies at home as a child. Love to carry on these type of traditions with my boys.

December daily ~ december 11...
I can just call this Sugar Saturday. I think I ate my body weight in sugar today.
Went to a cookie exchange party and came home with lots of goodies. My butt feels bigger just thinking about it. On my way home I decided to make a quick stop at the mall to pick up the boy's Christmas sweaters. Big mistake; the mall was a zoo. Took me forever to find a parking spot and then I had to make my way through the mall. I wanted to go to Gymbore, always cute stuff. Once I was there I realized the largest size is a 5; G is an 8. Long story, I found the perfect sweaters and a gift for hubby than headed home.
Of course I ate more cookies ~ why. After the boys went to bed I cuddled up on the couch and watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith. That is a great movie.
One day closer to the big day.

December daily ~ december 10
Friday, my day off!!!!! Spent it running around town getting windshield looked at, coffee date with my little one, picking up debit card at Billy's, Costco -ugh - shopping at the baby store and than off to Haggens.
I did my good deed for the day and rescued my hubby! He locked his keys in the car so off C and I went to bring him the spare set. So fun to see the guy, who makes my heart skip a beat each time I see him, at unexpected times.
C and I stopped at Sonic for some burgers and fries. Fun to sit in the car and eat lunch, telling stories and then trying to find a bathroom (man that kid goes a lot). Did a little baking tonight (pb and chocolate chip cookies). Then we did the Brethauer family tradition ~ we watched National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. The boys LOVED it this year. Both G and C were laughing up a storm.

December daily ~ december 9
Man it pays to do this every day. Here it is Saturday and I really have no clue what I did on Thursday - not a good sign for my memory.
What I do remember is Carson and I cuddling and him falling asleep on my lap while I sang to him (can you feel the love in my heart????). After dropping a cd off to a client, I noticed the crack in my windshield grew a little more. My car is having a great season; she is getting lots of stuff this month.
Night was uneventful with dinner and the usual Thursday night tv (loving the Office).

December daily ~ december 8
Started our Christmas shopping!!!!!
How can it be two weeks till the big day? I still have no clue what I am getting most people; have yet to mail my cards, have done no baking and next week is the last week of school before the holiday break.
Wow, can you say overwhelmed?????
We did manage to go to Costco last night in the downpour to get Randy's work accounts their gifts. We even managed to pick up a few items for people on our list. We than headed to Billy's (not my 1st choice) for dinner.
Taking kids out in the middle of the weeks is not a good idea. They were wound up by the time we got home and they did not get to bed till after 9:15.

December daily ~ december 7...
Randy and I finally made a list of who we need to buy for; now to find out what each person wants. Only two more weekend to shop - I am starting to panic.
Almost have the Christmas cards done. Feels so good to have that item checked off my list. I love getting the mail this time of year. I really enjoy opening up the cards and reading the well wishes and seeing the pictures. There is magic in the air.

December daily ~ december 6
A pretty typical Monday, work was busy, came home and had to play a little Angry Birds - man that game is addictive. Randy made grilled cheese sandwiches, they were pretty yummy. Griffin and I read books. I think our Christmas tree has talked to Jen's tree; the lights decided to stop working on it; our tree looks a little sad not lit up.
Told Randy I did not want any Christmas presents this year. I have no clue what I want and I think I need a new windshield for my car. He was not impressed with my decision and wants me to come up with a list.
Carson cleaned his room and was so inspired he decided to clean the living room - way to go C Dot. Fran took him to the library for a new Star Wars book and then to the pet store to check out the mice - his favorite thing to do!
Tried to do my cards today but there is no ink in our printer, guess i am going shopping.
