I could not have asked for a better two days with my hubby. We were on the road by 9:30 Friday morning; we made a Starbucks and Subway run before he hit the boarder. No lines + no search = a great start. We made it to Ikea, found a few goodies and then found a store for Randy right next to Ikea (a big tool shop).
Next stop was Vancouver. We had an amazing room with a view of the sea wall and the harbor. We dumped our bags and headed out in the sunshine for a walk. The sea wall is very well designed. They have the lower path for walkers and the upper path for bikers ~ perfect.
Dinner was dockside. A cozy table, a warm blanket and a heater above me were three extra ingredients that made our time together just that much better. Some drinks, warm bread and great food was the perfect combination to our conversations. It was so nice to talk to Randy, really talk to him without any interruptions.
More walking, people watching by Stanley Park, a call home that ended in tears (poor Carsie missed me) and a nice swim in the pool is how our day ended.
Saturday we took our time coming home. We walked the opposite side of the sea wall, watched sea planes take off and counted many seals swimming in the harbor. Before we headed to the boarder, we drove into White Rock for ice cream. What a great little place. We will be coming back for dinner; there was a bunch of yummy looking places. And if you want fish and chips ~ this is the place. The orders that we saw were HUGE.
The kids covered us in kisses and hugs the moment they spotted us. We ended our night with a family BBQ ( I think Owen was victimized by my aunt).
Randy and I are already planning our next weekend get-a-way (thanks mom and dad, you guys are the BEST).
