it's over...

We just walked in from Griffin's school "Summer Send Off" party. It was a lot of fun. Griffin went back and forth on going or not going. I wasn't going to push him but was pleasantly happy that he wanted to go.

I have always found these type of things scary. Randy and I tend to shy away from these kind of activities. I really do not want Griffin to have the same insecurities that I have. I feel I would have turned out a different person if I did not have these hang ups (but than again, I wouldn't change a thing about my life - I love where I am at).

So we walk down to his school - this is a part of my home that I love, I am so close to his school that we can walk. I have always dreamed about walking my kids to/from school. When we get there it is a bit overwhelming - tons of people. But Griffin runs off to find some friends and Randy and I run into a few people we know as well.

We enjoy Popsicles and fresh pop corn - the real fatty kind. There is music, face painting and a hula hop contest going on. The best part -it's free! We all had a great time and it was a wonderful way to end the year.

G's school may not be the cleanest, newest or up to date regarding technology, but it is a pretty darn good school. It has a great sense of community and warmth, you just can fake that stuff.

I feel the same way about Brenna's school. Glad you ventured out some!
