Hope everyone had a great Halloween.
I have no pictures to share! A few weeks ago I made a Halloween mini book. My intent was to take the boys' picture every year, put it in the book and wirte what we did. I have to dress the kids up tomorrow and get my picture for the book.
Before I dive into our festive day, I must admit I have been a bit off. I feel like I am standing still and my "life" is swirling around me. I am making some steps to stop this (back to my daily lists, my day timer and saying "no"). I can feel the calm coming, lets hope it gets here soon.
So here is our day in a re-cap version:
-During the day, hung out with the boys, cleaning up one mess after another (I swear, C took ALL the books out of G-man's book cases.
-I helped out in G's class room. We had a harvest party. It was so fun interacting with all his classmates and he was so happy to have me there. After the party he went out for recess and he made sure I was going to be here when he got back.
- After recess I helped out in the library. I checked the kid out; got a few sour faces when I had to tell a few kids they were unable to check out books because they already had books that were not turned in.
- After school, we went home, picked up C and headed to my work place for Trick-or-Treating. It was fun to see all the office kids and I think C ate his body weight in chocolate.
- Headed home to pick up Randy than headed out to Sabina's for a Halloween/birthday party. After we ate and wished Ella a happy birthday, we took the kids around the block to get candy. It brought back memories from my childhood.
- Stopped off at Randy's parents for a quick "hi"
- Home to bed!
I am tired just typing it all.
I read somehwere that it has been proven that is you focus on the positives in your life you will be a happier person (a gratitude list). If I remember, I am going to try to finish each post with a graditiude or two to remind me how lucky I am in this life.
today's list:
Friends that put up with me (both good times and bad)
A solid roof over my head
My job

I'm with you on life swirling around and not feeling purposeful. I am also going to focus on gratitude in November.
