today is my dad's birthday.
I miss him when he is gone. It's funny how your relationship with your parents changes over time. I am happy to be able to call my dad my friend as well as my father.
I have some very vivid memories of him over my 35 year; here is a list of my favorite:
Breakfast at McDonald's. We only did this once, but I so remember it and we used to have a white mug with a big sun on it that he purchased that day.
The house I grew up in was at the top of a hill, during high school, if it snowed my dad would walk with me down the hill, holding my hand so I would not fall. He was great.
The early mornings he would take me and Joanna so school early for drivers ed.
Teaching me how to drive since my mom and I would of killed each other.
Long drives in the T-bird.
One day with I was little, he came home from work and told me to look in his lunch box. Hiding inside was a stuffed reindeer. I loved that thing.
Looking forward to making more memories with him. I love you dad. Happy birthday!
