So, when we get the book of the month club stuff in the mail I always let Griffin go through it. He picks about a zillion books he wants, than I just toss the stuff in the recycle.
Tonight he wanted to keep the magazine. I said "no". That boy keeps so many papers, you can't even shut his desk any more. He pleaded some more. I say "give me 5 piece of your old paper and you can have this". The tears start.
I send him to his room. He was in there for a while than emerged with 5 pieces of paper. I examined them. They all had the same two colors (green and blue) and almost identical scribble marks. He just colored them.
I confronted him, thank goodness he doesn't lie yet. Yep, he just created them. I take the magazine away; more water works.
Boy, he is sneaky. I am in trouble if he keeps doing this. He is still crying! My hubby is gone tonight, my nerves are shot, it's only 6:30. Man, it's a bad night.

you are in trouble! That was pretty brilliant of him to think of that trick at age 5, just think of what he'll come up with at 10!

sounds like something I would have done as a kid....I tell Hannah all the time, "don't try to trick me because I invented all those tricks."
