Griffin needed some mommy time today (or maybe I just need some one on one time with him) either way, Griffin and I headed out together. We headed to Starbucks on the way to the store. He ordered up a cookie and some milk, I had my usually - a peppermint hot chocolate.
It was quite fun to sit down and have a conversation with my oldest child. It's hard for me to imagine him old enough to talk to me. Old enough to carry on a conversation with me about his life. Old enough to have experiences that I am not around for. I don't think I am ready for this - but I have no choice. I hope we can always make time for each other. I am sure in 10 years we will have to drive to Mt. Vernon for our "together time" so none of his friends see him hanging out with his mom!
If that's what is takes to stay connected to him, I would drive anywhere.
