G-man was in hog heaven today.
Last week Great Grandma bought Griffin a dinosaur book. We went over there on Wednesday to pick it up. When Grandma showed him the book, he got a huge smile on his face but said "it's the wrong one". Kid, we must work on your grace and style. He did spend the next 20 minutes looking at the book and has slept with it since - so good call, he loves the book.
Anyway, Granny said that she would take him to the book store sometime to pick out the one he wants (you know, the one that has the t-rex on the front showing all his teeth; trust me, that is 99% of the dino book covers). We get a call last night from Great G; Griffin answers:
"Hi Grandma, are we going to the book store?"
It's 8:00 pm, I don't' think so. Grandma said that she will take him tomorrow (not sure why she called, bet it wasn't to go shopping). So today, they called after church and said they would be on their way. Griffin was pumped. He got read, put jacket, hat, shoes and sunglasses on and sat by the front window and waited. Finally they came. He was bouncing off the wall.
We get a call about an hour later, they are done shopping (they purchased two books and one more is on order) and Griffin got hungry so they popped to McDonald's, got him french fries and headed to their house. He had so much fun that he didn't want to come home.
I am so grateful that he is old enough to form memories of his great grandparents. I never know mine; it would of been nice to have a face to remember. He is one lucky kid.
