Wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving.
I have so much to be thankful for; my wonderful husband, my two amazing boys, all my friends and family; the list can go on and on.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Not sure why but I know mashed potatoes and gravy play a huge role! I so miss having Thanksgiving in the house I grew up in. I never imagined my kids would not experience this holiday there. I was selfish to think my parents would never grow old, never sell that house. I thought every holiday would be there.
I miss the moments, waking up in the morning to the smell of sweetness; as I come up the stairs hearing my mom busy in the kitchen. Sitting around our big dinning room table with my parents and brothers enjoying the time together. I wish I could be in a snow globe at times, so I can turn the globe upside down and have the snowflakes be memories, hitting me so I can feel what each moment was like all over again.
This year, I am hosting Thanksgiving with Randy's family. I don't get to spend Thanksgiving with my family anymore. I so miss them but glad we have Randy's family around. My turkey is in (hope I cook it right) my potatoes need to be peeled, and the dessert needs to thaw. I am looking forward to a relaxing dinner and maybe a nap!
Whatever you are doing, I hope you have a wonderful holiday. We may not be with everyone we love, but we can think about them, let them know we are thankful for them and enjoy eating a bit to much today.
Happy Thanksgiving to my family and my friends (whom I consider family). Enjoy your day.

Your snowglobe sentiment brought tears to my eyes! How poetic, it brought memories alive to envision them like your words.
